Kind of a hidden gem. Great apps. and very good menu. Appetizers are not same ole same ole: Sweet Potato Biscuit with pulled pork (Very Good and not smothered in BB sauce) topped with sweet cabbage slaw. Deviled Potatos..Got to try them.

We had eight great meals. Appetizers and entrees taste as great as they are described. Would love to see them add some other southern items like crawdads, blackened catfish, hush puppies, and ribs because I know they would be great. You won't be disappointed and the drinks prepared by Jeff the Barkeep are fabulous. David and Senka are great hosts and proprietors. Definitely going back!

There were some hits and some misses with our dinners at this new restaurant in the area. The decor is bright and clean with a nice river view. The noise level was pretty high considering that there were only 4 tables occupied. They should consider sound panels that have been successful at other places.

However, the service was rather slow. Took a while for a waitress/hostess to even seat us, let alone take our order. Food never took too long, but we were never offered refills on our water until we asked for the check. It was slowish too so not sure why the delay in taking our order and getting us a table.

Good People running the place plus nice review of river in dinning area

The shrimp and grits was one of the good dishes. The snapper looked good but lacked flavor. The pecan crusted chicken with tortellini was flavorful but the chicken was so thin it couldn't compete with the breading. The stuffed burger (basil, tomato and mozzarella) had a nice basil and tomato flavor, not much mozzarella to taste.

Fair warning though, it feels a bit upscale and is priced as such (Burgers range from 11-15 and are the cheapest entree...shrimp cocktail appetizer was $12 for 4 pieces of shrimp....tastes great but does a number on the wallet).

Went there today. The food was absolutely incredible! Plenty of parking and a beautiful view of the river. The owners couldn't have been more welcoming. I never had a meal created like that. Will definitely be back! Thank you for such a wonderful dining experience, Senka and David!

The owners are friendly and welcoming. With some tweaks they will have a winner here.

That said, the issues with the service are likely due to how new the place is. Always takes some time to get it running like a well oiled machine. At the end of the day, Thompson's has great food and that's all that matters.

Had the burger stuffed with mac and cheese. It was fantastic. The shrimp cocktail appetizer was also terrific.
