I love this place. I would never take my car anywhere else. Rose and Dmitri encourage a family atmosphere, and they are very trustworthy, respectable people. I've been taking cars to them for a long time, and I've had a great experience every time.
I must give some credit though! The owner was very generous and kind and worked with me knowing the circumstances. He reimbursed me for a good portion of what I paid. I'm sure the work he did was fine. He was very understanding and generous about giving money back, how many mechanics would do that?! I am only giving 3 stars because they should have given me a call back about the rust issues in the first place if they ever thought it was that bad to begin with. I would go back here again after my experience.
I brought in my vehicle with a busted rear strut. The car did have some rust issues that I was aware of, and they did clear it up with me before working on the car. However, when they put the new strut onto the car, a few miles later the strut tower busted out from the frame making the car unsafe to drive and making it a pointless repair. They did NOT make it clear to me that the rust on the vehicle was that bad or else I would not have given them the okay to do the repair.
I have used Affordable Automotive for many years to maintain our two vehicles. My parents and sister also have their vehicles maintained by Affordable. I find them to be both personal and professional. The one thing you want from any mechanic is honesty. Over the years, I have brought vehicles in for one reason or another and they have come back without repairs because what I thought was a problem wasn't. I have even switched to Affordable for routine maintenance like oil changes because I feel like they are doing a better job at keeping an eye on my vehicles. Every time we went to a large chain oil change shop we would get a list of other things we "needed right now". Dimitri will say things like, "your brake pads will probably need to be address at your next oil change". I would highly recommend them.
Always honest, always dependable, they've never added extra items that 'need attention' like other places do, unless it's something that really does need attention. We've had some strange problems with cars, and Dimitri has always figured out what it was. As for affordable, well...car repairs and maintenance aren't cheap, no matter where you go. Dimitri is, nevertheless, more reasonably priced than any other repair shop I've ever been to. I'll keep going back there, as will my family. Rick Z.
